We took a cheap flight with Ryanair to Leeds to see our in-laws. Leeds can be quite expensive, so we usually hop on a train and spend a few days in nearby Blackpool. Blackpool used to be a popular summer spot, but it has been declining for years because more people now go on cheap all-inclusive trips to Spain. The city has a unique kind of beauty, even though it’s a bit grim. The people are friendly, and we often enjoy affordable drinks at the Ardwick. We always make sure to have a big English breakfast in the mornings. Some might find it a bit sad, but we think it’s charming.
